As an ambassador, help amplify initiatives and programmes that strengthen our community by promoting local growth, supporting businesses, and connecting people.

Retail Excellence Programme

Five more Norfolk towns can now take advantage of the Retail Excellence Programme which has been extended to businesses based in Gorleston, Hunstanton, Attleborough, Aylsham and Sheringham, who can sign up for six free workshops to develop and enhance the skills needed for a modern retail business to thrive.

The workshops aim to develop skills and increase footfall while fostering a stronger sense of community and encouraging innovation and future retail collaborations.

Rural towns are pivotal to Norfolk’s economic prosperity and High Streets Matter was launched to help equip businesses for success and help high streets to flourish. Delivered by High Streets Matter, the Retail Excellence Programme is designed for anyone running, or working in, a retail environment, such as a traditional shop, market stall, farm shop, or an online retailer looking to move into physical premises.

Our message to Norfolk retailers – please take advantage!

Shape the future workforce of Norfolk

The Norfolk and Suffolk Careers Hub, a partnership between The Careers and Enterprise Company, Norfolk County Council and Suffolk County Council, exists to make sure young people have the skills and confidence to step into the world of work, training or future education, and Norfolk businesses are a vital part of that journey.

The Careers Hub team works with schools, colleges, apprenticeship providers and businesses to connect education with real-world opportunities.

Here’s how you can make an impact:

Become an Enterprise Advisor – Partner with a local school or college, share your workplace experiences and inspire the next generation to raise their aspirations and build essential skills.

Host a Teacher Encounter – Give teachers a first-hand look into your industry so they can link classroom learning to career pathways and opportunities.

Offer Workplace Experiences – From site visits to employer-led projects, give young people a taste of the workplace and help them see where their ambitions could take them.

Your time, knowledge and insight could spark a young person’s career journey and help build and bolster Norfolk’s talent pipeline.
